Capcom has announced that the player count for Resident Evil 2 Remake has surpassed 20 million. This figure was released alongside today's news about the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
It is worth noting that the 20 million player count does not solely represent sales figures, as the game was previously included in Xbox Game Pass.
Resident Evil 2 Remake follows protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they attempt to clear out the zombie outbreak in Raccoon City, which has caused massive civilian casualties. Leon and Claire each have their own playable chapters, with differences in paths, perspectives, and gameplay segments. To uncover the deeper truth, players must complete both characters' stories.
Currently, Resident Evil 2 Remake is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Apple devices, and PC.
Additionally, Resident Evil 2 Remake Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, 2026.
