Blade Interactive, the studio behind the space multiplayer shooter Boundary, has announced The Wandering Earth: Perihelion, a narrative-driven sci-fi third-person shooter. The game's story is directly adapted from Liu Cixin's novel The Wandering Earth, rather than Frant Gwo's film adaptation.

First Trailer:
The sun will undergo a helium flash within centuries, destroying Earth, prompting humanity to initiate the Wandering Earth Project. The entire plan spans 2,500 years, during which humans will build tens of thousands of planetary engines to carry Earth to our new home. The story takes place at the end of the "Braking Era," as the first phase of the "Wandering Earth Project" nears completion. Players assume the role of an engineer dispatched to the Moon for a critical mission just before this window closes. There, intense assaults, conspiracies, and escalating conflicts between the "Earth Faction" (those advocating saving the entire planet) and the "Space/Spaceship Faction" (those advocating escape via interstellar ships) will unfold.
The developers emphasize that the game is based on Liu Cixin's original novel The Wandering Earth, with supervision from Liu Cixin himself. Gameplay will focus on a "realistic" and skill-based shooting experience: featuring realistic physics that account for low gravity, zero gravity, inertia, and velocity. Additionally, players will utilize special equipment such as spacesuits and exoskeletons to explore battlefield experiences distinct from traditional shooters. The game's Steam page is now live.
