Renowned Journalist Reports Blizzard May Release New RTS Game and Collaborate Again with Homeworld 3 Studio

According to Jez Corden, a well-known journalist at Windows Central, Blizzard may be collaborating with Blackbird Interactive, known for RTS games such as Homeworld 3 and Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, to prepare a new real-time strategy project. However, neither Blizzard nor Blackbird has officially confirmed this yet.

This is not the first time Blackbird Interactive has collaborated with Blizzard: it previously assisted Blizzard in developing Warcraft III: Reforged, which was released in 2024. This fact is particularly noteworthy as two teams specializing in strategy games join forces, coinciding with the approach of BlizzCon 2026 and heightened expectations for new announcements. It remains unclear which specific game is involved. One possibility is Blizzard's return to the classic Warcraft franchise, with Jez Corden's report mentioning a project titled Warcraft Chronicles. However, it cannot yet be confirmed that this is a new Warcraft title. The project could also be a brand-new RTS, a remaster, or another form of expansion on an existing game.

Blizzard's other project, codenamed Camelot, has also sparked curiosity among players. According to previous information, it is also related to the RTS genre. Combining these reports suggests that Blizzard may indeed be placing greater emphasis on strategy games again, but specific plans remain unknown.
