It's a Wrap! "Marvel's Wolverine" Receives Insomniac Games' Lowest Score in 10 Years

Marvel's Wolverine has received its Metacritic scores. Insomniac Games' new superhero adventure boasts solid combat mechanics and outstanding protagonist performances, but the narrative fails to come together as a cohesive whole, the combat grows stale quickly, and the game's scope feels extremely limited compared to other PlayStation exclusives of this generation.

The game currently holds an average score of 77. While there are plenty of positive reviews, most critics agree that the game is merely "decent." Unfortunately, "decent" falls far short of the expectations people have for contemporary Sony titles.

It's worth noting that the 77-point average marks Insomniac's lowest score for an original title since their experimental 2016 release, Song of the Deep. Of course, the studio has primarily delivered excellent Marvel's Spider-Man games since then, but Marvel's Wolverine still hasn't reached the high scores seen in many entries from the Sunset Overdrive and Ratchet & Clank series.
