"Stellar Blade: Complete Edition" Physical Release Confirms Existence of 32GB Switch 2 Game Cards

According to GoNintendo, Shift Up confirmed this week that Stellar Blade: Complete Edition will launch on the Switch 2 platform on November 6, 2026, with a physical release. The physical edition includes the full game and DLC on the game cartridge, and promotional materials clearly indicate that this physical version uses a 32GB game cartridge.

This information confirms earlier speculation about Nintendo offering smaller capacity cartridge options for Switch 2. In December 2025, a publisher accidentally revealed that Nintendo had added two smaller-capacity Switch 2 cartridges, but later retracted the statement. At the time, the industry widely speculated that Nintendo had finally opened up cartridge capacity options beyond 64GB to publishers.

Previously, physical game releases for Switch 2 faced a dilemma: either use expensive 64GB cartridges or adopt the controversial "Game-Key Card"—the latter containing only a key, requiring players to download the full game to play. Since 64GB cartridges cost as much as $16, many publishers were forced to turn to the key card solution.

The physical edition of Stellar Blade: Complete Edition uses a 32GB cartridge, meaning publishers now have a more cost-effective option for medium-capacity games. This not only reduces production costs but also allows more small and mid-sized games to be released in complete physical form, rather than relying on key cards.

Stellar Blade: Complete Edition will include the previously released NieR:Automata and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE collaboration DLCs, as well as new Bayonetta collaboration content, which includes four outfits.
