Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Launches Without Quick Save Feature, To Be Added Later

Recently, Naoki Hamaguchi, director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, confirmed in an interview with RPG Site that the launch version of the game will not include the "Easy Mode" feature, but the team plans to add it at some point after release.

《最终幻想7:启示》首发不提供简化进度功能 日后将加入

This feature was previously made available after the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, allowing players to enable options such as infinite HP and MP, instant mastery of weapon abilities, and unlimited resources. The team designed these settings both to help newcomers catch up with the story and to make it easier for veteran players to replay or skip over more difficult sections.

Naoki Hamaguchi stated that many players have already used the relevant features from the previous two titles, with generally positive feedback. However, when the new game first launches, players will discuss how to configure their characters for smoother progression and share strategies with each other, which is itself part of the fun of playing.

If options that significantly reduce resource and combat pressure were provided on day one, the team worried it would diminish this shared exploration experience and potentially trigger negative feedback. Therefore, the developers chose to let players experience the originally designed progression and combat flow first, before making convenience options available later.
