PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS (hereinafter referred to as "PUBG"), under KRAFTON (CEO CH Kim), has expanded its gameplay elements by adding new actions and item usage methods in the 43.1 update.
This update broadens the range of actions players can take during combat, movement, and item usage, aiming to enrich the gameplay experience and allow players to respond to various situations and environments in more diverse ways.
First, a kicking action has been added to unarmed combat, which can knock back other players or break certain objects like windows and wooden doors. Second, the ability to use secondary and throwable weapons while in water has been added, and movement speed for swimming and diving has increased by 25%. With these new countermeasures, from close-quarters combat to underwater movement, gameplay styles are expected to become more varied depending on the situation.
Item usage methods have also changed. Depending on the type of item on the ground, you can pick it up directly or throw it to teammates for transfer. Healing items, boost items, and some attachable items can be used instantly. By reducing unnecessary operations during item acquisition and usage, players can choose their desired actions more quickly and focus on the battlefield situation.
Based on gameplay data and player feedback since the 42.3 update, further balance adjustments have been made to Light Machine Guns (hereinafter referred to as LMGs). This reflects that the impact of LMGs on the overall gameplay environment slightly exceeded expectations after the first Core Gameplay Rotation. These adjustments cover various aspects such as aim speed, recoil, vehicle counter capability, and spawn rates, while maintaining the inherent advantages and characteristics of this weapon category.
Meanwhile, a new "Leaderboards" feature has been added to the Career menu. Players can now view their rankings not only based on Competitive matches but also according to various records such as seasonal wins, eliminations by weapon, and clan XP.
Additionally, this update includes the following: the return of the Solo Showdown mode in Arcade, adjustments to boat durability and repair functions, changes to parachute deployment conditions, support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4.1, the launch of the Duo mode for "TDM," and an expansion of custom preset slots.
