Independent developer and YouTuber Dev Ed has launched an experiment called Ass Bench. He integrated the new AI model GPT-6 Astra into a continuous loop, allowing it to generate and refine 3D models of female buttocks without constant human intervention.
The experiment started a week ago and has been running for over 100 hours so far. According to the author, the initial results were only at PlayStation 2-level graphics, but now they are approaching PS5 Pro quality. The developer only occasionally adjusts the direction, making corrections about twice a day, and plans to let the system run for at least another month, gradually adding new styles and variants.
As early as the first 12 hours, Dev Ed admitted: "Spent a huge amount of my own tokens, but it was worth it, all for science." He didn't disclose the exact amount, but based on the current price of GPT-6 Astra ($10 per million tokens) and the workload involved, the cost is likely in the hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars.
The initial results video has already garnered over 7 million views, turning the "butt benchmark" into a viral meme within the tech community. The developer himself hasn't clarified the experiment's purpose, though the results might be used in a future game. Currently, according to his profile information, he is working on a Roguelike game.
