Recently, Famitsu released sales data for physical game software and hardware in the Japanese market from August 31 to September 6, 2026.
The best-selling new release this week was Onimusha: Way of the Sword, with the PS5 version selling 76,530 copies in its first week and the Switch 2 version selling 19,499 copies, for a combined total of 96,029 copies across both platforms.
In terms of hardware, the Switch 2 sold 24,281 units this week, bringing its cumulative total to 6,265,473 units. The Switch family sold a combined 11,591 units; the PS5 family sold a combined 7,760 units; and the Xbox Series family sold a combined 127 units.
