Currently, the specific release dates and prices for both games have not been announced. Ubisoft has also not confirmed whether they will be sold as a bundle or released on the same day. For reference, the PS4 versions of the two Classic Editions were priced at $29.99 and $14.99 respectively.

Ubisoft stated that technical specifications for the ported versions and information on whether physical editions will be released will be announced later. The company will also provide further details on whether more Far Cry series titles will come to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the future.

Far Cry 3 was originally released in 2012, with its Classic Edition following in 2018. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon debuted in 2013, built upon the gameplay framework of Far Cry 3 and infused with numerous pop culture elements from the 1980s and 1990s; its corresponding Classic Edition was later released in 2022 as part of the Far Cry 6 Season Pass.

This will also mark the return of the Far Cry series to Nintendo consoles since Far Cry: Vengeance in 2007. Far Cry: Vengeance was released for the Wii, and since then, no new entries in the series have been published on Nintendo hardware.

Both Classic Editions previously faced criticism for their limited upgrades. Ubisoft released updates for them in January this year, enabling higher frame rates when running on newer PlayStation and Xbox consoles; the specific performance of the Nintendo Switch 2 versions remains to be officially announced.
