BULKHEAD's 100-player FPS launches at midnight on September 10 (Beijing Time), accompanied by the new launch trailer "PLAY LIKE YOU USED TO"; officials also announced that WARDOGS will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox in 2028
BULKHEAD and Team17 announced today that their 100-player tactical first-person shooter, WARDOGS, will launch on Steam Early Access at 00:00 Beijing Time on September 11. Additionally, it has been confirmed that the game will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox in 2028, with wishlists available on these console platforms starting today.
Multiple test rounds held before the launch of WARDOGS received enthusiastic responses from players: nearly 500,000 unique players participated in the closed Beta test in August, and the final pre-launch test peaked at 245,118 concurrent players on Steam. A recurring theme in player feedback was that they hadn't experienced this kind of joy in an FPS game for many years.

This sentiment also inspired the theme of today's launch trailer—"PLAY LIKE YOU USED TO." The trailer pays homage to Halo 3's iconic "Believe" campaign, looking back at an era when multiplayer gaming was socially interactive, unpredictable, and utterly addictive.
WARDOGS aims to revive this experience through 100-player battles between three rival teams, blending tactical gunfights, vehicles, construction, and destruction across three maps, each with three variants.
Battle situations can shift from orderly coordinated advances to chaos within seconds, while local voice chat spanning all three teams allows both allies and enemies to join the same conversation, creating unpredictable moments. Community players have already created thousands of short clips, streams, and videos highlighting these exciting scenes.
Joe Brammer, CEO of BULKHEAD, stated:
"WARDOGS is ambitious and still has plenty of room for polish, with a long road ahead, but that's exactly what Early Access is about. We're putting the game in players' hands, listening to their feedback, and taking the necessary risks to shape it into a title with long-term potential. Most importantly, we want players to jump in, interact with each other, and rediscover the joy we experienced growing up playing FPS games."
The game will adopt a tiered pricing model designed to reward players who join during early development, rather than charging the full release price before all major features are implemented.
WARDOGS will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox in 2028. Players can add the game to their wishlists on these console platforms starting today. PC players can access WARDOGS via Steam Early Access starting at 00:00 Beijing Time on September 11.
