The dates for the Final Fantasy series' 40th Anniversary Exhibition, "Endless World of Fantasy," have been officially confirmed. It will be held from January 8 to April 4, 2027, at the Hyokeikan Gallery of the Tokyo National Museum. The exhibition will review the series' history since the release of its first title in 1987.
The exhibition will present the series' 40-year history through iconic scenes and music from past titles, and will feature introductions to Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The organizers also plan to include interactive experiences that bring game scenes into real-world spaces, with specific details to be announced in the future.
This exhibition will also mark the first time the Final Fantasy series has been combined with cultural properties from the Tokyo National Museum's collection. This includes collaborative works such as "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido (Nihonbashi) x Final Fantasy XIV Kugane," showcasing the correspondence between traditional collections and game world designs.
All exhibition tickets are dated. Early Bird ticket prices are 3,200 yen for adults, 2,400 yen for students, and 1,100 yen for children (tax included). The limited-quantity "+9999 (Level Cap) Merchandise Bundle," which includes a set of framed badges featuring logos from past titles, is priced at 13,199 yen for adults, 12,399 yen for students, and 11,099 yen for children.
All ticket purchasers will also receive a venue-exclusive promotional card, with one of two designs randomly provided during each distribution phase. For Phase 1 (January 8 to February 5, 2027), the cards feature either "Mahamayuri Statue x Final Fantasy XVI Joshua Rosfield" or "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido (Nihonbashi) x Final Fantasy XIV Kugane." Designs for Phases 2 and 3 will be announced later.
Phase 1 Early Bird dated tickets were available through priority sales on the Square Enix app, with pre-sales ending at 23:59 on September 23. General sales will begin at 9:30 on September 24, while details for Phase 2 and Phase 3 Early Bird tickets are yet to be announced.
