The Pokémon Trading Card Game will release a special 30th Anniversary Mewtwo promotional card. This card will not be available in standard 30th Anniversary products; players must visit designated retailers in the US to participate in the event and obtain it.
The event will begin on October 2, 2026. Players can receive this promotional card by spending at least $15 at participating retailers. Current information indicates that GameStop and Best Buy are among the eligible retailers.
This special card features Mewtwo and is illustrated by Nagisimo. The 30th Anniversary series also includes a Mewtwo card, but it has the "Future Rare" rarity, making it harder to obtain from booster packs. These two cards are not the same version.
October 2 is also the release date for the second wave of 30th Anniversary products, which includes day-and-night themed mini tins. Each tin contains two booster packs, a sticker, and an art card, with Unown elements featured in the background of the series' tins.
The booster pack bundle launched on the same day includes six booster packs. The first wave of 30th Anniversary products was released earlier on September 16, and the special Mewtwo promotional card was not included with that batch.
Previously, some retailers distributed San Francisco-themed Pikachu cards during events related to the 2026 World Championships, with some stores quickly running out of their giveaway cards. The specific stock quantity for this Mewtwo promotional card has not been announced, and the event will depend on the actual arrangements at each participating store.
