She won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as Granny Speedy in Dandadan, and in her acceptance speech, she referenced Masako Nozawa: "I don't think I'll live as long as Mako-san, but I'll strive to keep going for about another ten years."
After her comments spread on social media, many One Piece fans expressed their reluctance to see her go. Some fans urged her not to say such things, while others said they would willingly give up some of their own lifespan just to hear Luffy's familiar voice for longer.
