HORI released the Arcade Classic Pro arcade controller on September 14. The product supports Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC (limited to XInput-compatible games), and allows players to swap operation modules to suit different types of arcade games.
This officially licensed product has passed Nintendo's compatibility certification and is primarily designed for the Arcade Archives series. Eight buttons are arranged in the center of the top panel, with module slots on both the left and right sides, allowing players to freely combine components based on game requirements.
The standard joystick module supports eight-directional input and can lock out diagonal movements, switching to four-directional input (up, down, left, right). This feature allows players to adjust the input method when playing titles like Qix that use four-directional controls.
HORI also offers a trackball module for Cybernator, a dial module for Arkanoid, and a ring joystick module for Front Line. The ring joystick not only supports eight-directional input but can also be rotated like a dial.
The controller features turbo and turbo hold functions, with turbo speed adjustable between 5, 10, and 20 presses per second. With turbo hold enabled, inputs continue even after releasing the button. Players can also long-press the ASSIGN button on top of the unit to remap other buttons.
In addition to the Arcade Archives series, the product also supports general fighting and shooting games. HORI stated that it will announce Arcade Archives titles optimized for this controller on its official website in the future.
The Arcade Classic Pro is priced at 39,980 yen (tax included) and will be available for order on the HORI official store from September 14 to October 2.
