"TCG Card Shop Simulator" has concluded its nearly two-year Early Access period and launched version 1.0. The game has reached 4 million players and is now available on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The game launched in Early Access on Steam on September 15, 2024, and has since garnered nearly 50,000 user reviews with a 96% positive rating. It was previously released on Xbox Series X|S, and with the launch of version 1.0, it is now available on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Developer Ding Shen Sia stated that he felt exhausted while developing mobile games solo in 2023, which led him to expand his previous trading card mobile game into a Steam title. To complete development, he worked at least 90 hours per week for six consecutive months, ultimately releasing the Early Access version one month ahead of schedule.
The developer initially did not set high commercial goals for the game, hoping only to sell 100,000 copies within the first year. However, "TCG Card Shop Simulator" reached this figure within three days of launch, and the player base has since grown to 4 million.
Version 1.0 further refines the in-game Tetramon trading card gameplay. Items sold while managing your store are no longer just props designed in the style of Pokémon cards; players can now use these cards directly for battles.
This update adds nearly 2,000 new cards, bringing the total number of cards in the game to 4,436. The new platform versions and the fully playable card system constitute the major updates following the end of Early Access for "TCG Card Shop Simulator."
