Shohei Sakakibara, producer of "Danganronpa 2×2," confirmed that the previously announced recommended specifications for the PC version were based on running at 4K with high graphics settings, resulting in higher overall requirements. The official recommended specifications will be updated in the future.
The original recommended specifications required an Intel Core i7-14700 or AMD Ryzen 7 7700 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics card, and 32GB of RAM. As this is a high-speed reasoning action game, these specifications drew attention from some players upon release.
On September 14, Shohei Sakakibara stated that the previously listed recommended system requirements were targeted at 4K high-quality graphics, not standard settings. Regarding the current system requirements, he clearly indicated that they would be updated in the future, but specific adjusted parameters have not yet been released.
Addressing concerns about potential performance issues on the Nintendo Switch, Shohei Sakakibara stated that the team has optimized the game for the platform, ensuring smooth performance on actual hardware. He also mentioned that learning from the long load times of the Nintendo Switch version of "Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE," they have improved loading speeds for this title.
"Danganronpa 2×2" is a remake of "Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair." In addition to the "Original Mode," which features refreshed visuals and presentation aligned with current-generation consoles, the game will include "Madness Mode," offering different victims, culprits, and tricks, with a story scale no smaller than that of the Original Mode.
The game is scheduled for release on January 14, 2027, on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The PC version will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, with updated recommended specifications to be announced by the officials later.
