tinyBuild and Hungry Couch have released an anniversary update for the strategic mining game Core Keeper, now live on PS5, Xbox Series, and Steam. The Switch version will follow later, with a specific release date yet to be announced.
This update introduces end-of-game statistics, allowing players to view effective damage dealt by turrets and buildings during settlement. The contract system has also been expanded, enabling players to increase contract levels, tackle more challenging upgraded contracts, and earn additional rewards.
A new building has been added to the base, allowing players to complete tasks for sponsoring companies during contracts in exchange for rewards. In addition to the experts provided at the start, players can continue to recruit other experts during contracts, but each expert can only be hired once per contract.
Players can now view their base status when selecting technologies or mutation effects. The settings menu also adds a triple-speed option alongside the existing double-speed setting, allowing players to further adjust the game's pace.
The update also adds a casual mode selectable before starting a contract, emphasizing a more relaxed and leisurely gameplay experience. The order of tutorial prompts has been adjusted for a smoother overall flow.
Additionally, three new platform skins have been added, one for each platform. Players who launch the game before the end of September will receive these skins for free. This patch also includes standard balance adjustments and is now available on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
