Takashi Imamura participated in the design of Star Fox and served as the art director for The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. When sharing this experiment on social media, he said that brainstorming content with generative AI reminded him of his past experiences making games with programmers.

Some netizens subsequently raised ethical concerns about the training methods of generative AI models, arguing that such technologies could harm artists. Takashi Imamura responded, "I fully understand your point. However, given my profession, AI is something I cannot ignore, so I am trying it out as an experiment."

Imamura also noted that he is not a programmer, and generative AI can compensate for this lack of skill, helping him turn ideas into playable games, which surprised him. The currently disclosed content focuses mainly on personal testing and prototyping, with no plans for official products yet.

The use of generative AI in game development remains controversial. Some developers oppose its use for creating game assets; John Buckley, head of Pocketpair, stated that "players don't want it." Tyler Glaiel, co-developer of Meow's Combination, also believes that creators should invest more in original design, even for smaller elements like poster art.

Takashi Imamura has created numerous characters for Nintendo and contributed to the visual design of many titles, drawing significant attention to this experiment. He currently positions this attempt as an experiment, and there is no public information indicating that the prototype will be further developed into a commercially released game.
