With the continuous development of commercial aerospace technology, space tourism is slowly moving beyond science fiction and becoming a consumer product that can be booked for a fee. Recently, Ctrip launched Virgin Galactic's 2027 space travel product, with its high price tag quickly attracting public attention.
This space travel product costs 5.1 million yuan per ticket, making it one of the most expensive space tourism options currently available through public channels in China. Platform information shows that the product has already received 681 orders, demonstrating the strong interest among high-income groups in space experiences.
It is important to note that this hefty fee does not include transportation or visa costs. Tourists must make their own way to Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA, to begin their space journey.
The entire trip lasts six days, but you don't head straight into space upon arrival. During the first four days, ticketed tourists must participate in professional training courses to learn about spaceflight, adapt to the unique environment, and prepare for launch.
On the fifth day, the spacecraft will officially carry out its launch mission, allowing tourists to experience suborbital flight, brief weightlessness, and a view of Earth's curvature.
It is understood that Virgin Galactic's previous generation of spacecraft has completed its mission and been retired. The project now operates using the new Delta-class spacecraft. Due to the pace of technological development, commercial flight plans have undergone several adjustments, with the latest plan scheduled to resume in February 2027, after which additional spacecraft will gradually become operational.
