The demo for Hollowed (tentative title) launched on Steam on September 21, as announced by Future Friends Games. This first-person horror flight simulation game, currently in development by Rubeki Games, casts players as pilots responsible for maintaining communication towers, flying their planes back and forth within colossal structures.
Visibility inside the structures is low, requiring players to use lights to locate runways. Upon reaching a communication tower, players must complete repairs and refuel before flying to the next one. By consistently completing maintenance tasks along the designated route, players may uncover the truth hidden behind these missions.
The game shares its world with Rubeki Games' previous title, Lorne's Temptation (tentative title), and continues the predecessor's retro 3D visual style to create an eerie atmosphere.
To coincide with the demo's release, a trailer was also unveiled, showcasing scenes where players follow instructions from a woman over the radio, piloting an aircraft to carry out maintenance missions.
