The release date for Resident Evil: Veronica may be adjusted. Recently, well-known leaker Dusk Golem claimed that there is a high probability the internal schedule for the title will be pushed back to Fall 2027, but this arrangement has not been finalized.
When Capcom announced the game earlier this year, they only confirmed that it would launch in 2027 without providing a more specific timeframe. Previous reports pointed to the first half of 2027, with the Resident Evil 9: Requiem story DLC potentially scheduled for the second half of the same year; new leaks suggest that this internal planning may have changed.
Dusk Golem stated that he heard the same information from three trusted sources. The schedule adjustment may be related to changes in the scale of the remake, as Capcom hopes to make some late-stage changes to the game, thus requiring more development time.
He also emphasized that the Fall 2027 release window is not yet confirmed. According to his speculation, the development team may have found that the required changes would take longer than initially expected and decided to adopt a more extensive adjustment plan; these changes were not part of the original plan.
Even if the game ultimately launches in the final months of 2027, it would still fall within the year range already announced by Capcom. If it releases in the fall, it will become the first main series title to launch in the latter part of the year since Resident Evil 6 in 2012.
It remains unclear whether this potential adjustment will affect the story DLC for Resident Evil 9: Requiem. Capcom has not yet announced the release window or story theme for this expansion, and claims that the DLC might be further delayed are merely speculative. Resident Evil: Veronica is currently planned to launch on PS5, XSX/S, Switch 2, and PC platforms.
