The animated film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training Chapter 1 is set to expand its streaming release on September 28. The film will be available on Hulu and the Hulu hub within Disney+ in the United States, as well as on Disney+ in select international regions, with both Japanese and English audio options.
This film is the first chapter of a theatrical trilogy adapting the Infinity Castle Arc from Koyoharu Gotouge's original manga. It premiered in theaters last year and ran in Japan for nearly a year; it was previously released on Crunchyroll earlier this summer, and this latest distribution will further increase the number of platforms where it can be viewed.
Hulu currently also offers several previous TV anime seasons of Demon Slayer, including the Mugen Train Arc, Entertainment District Arc, Swordsmith Village Arc, and Hashira Training Arc. After Chapter 1 becomes available, viewers can catch up on related storylines on the same platform before continuing with Tanjiro and others entering the Infinity Castle for the final confrontation against Muzan Kibutsuji and other demons.
A release date or window for Chapter 2 of the "Infinity Castle Arc" has not yet been announced. The sequel will continue the story from Chapter 1, with the production team and voice cast returning, but no further specific release details are available at this stage.
Animation studio ufotable also has the film Mahoutsukai no Yoru (Witch on the Holy Night) scheduled for release in Japan this November, with a theatrical rollout in the United States and other regions starting next January. Before further announcements regarding Chapter 2, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training Chapter 1 will begin its new streaming release on September 28.
