DrinkBox Studios has announced that the Metroidvania action RPG "Tainted Lands" will be delayed until 2027, no longer launching in fall 2026 as originally planned. The game will still release on Switch 2 and PC, with the PC version available on Steam.
Josh Davis from DrinkBox Studios stated in the developer blog that the team has been working hard to advance the project and expand its scope, but more time is needed for polishing and adjustments before launch, leading to the decision to postpone the release to 2027.
The developer blog also showcases new visuals of the game's level design, including the hub area named "Watcher's Peak" and other scene content.
The studio plans to share more news about "Tainted Lands" in 2027. Before the end of 2026, the team will also provide a development update during the winter.
