Blizzard Confirms 2030 StarCraft Open-World Shooter Will Not Be Xbox Exclusive

Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that the new open-world shooter set in the StarCraft universe, planned for release in 2030, will not be an Xbox exclusive. In addition to Xbox, the game will launch on at least one other platform, but the full list of platforms has not yet been revealed.

The new title was officially unveiled at BlizzCon via a cinematic trailer. At the time, Blizzard did not specify which platforms players would be able to access the game on, only providing a 2030 release window.

The only console platform explicitly confirmed so far is Xbox. Xbox UK previously stated that the game is planned for release on Xbox consoles. Since the StarCraft series has primarily launched on PC in the past, whether the new title will also have a PC version and whether it will launch on other consoles has since become a point of interest for outsiders.

In follow-up email communications after the event, Blizzard stated that they could only confirm the new StarCraft title "will not be exclusive." When asked further whether this meant the game would launch on other consoles or simply that both Xbox and PC versions would be available, Blizzard did not provide a specific answer.

Blizzard also made it clear that if the game were described as an Xbox exclusive, the company would need to issue a correction. This means Xbox will not be the sole platform for the new title, but whether PlayStation or Nintendo's next-generation consoles are in the plans remains unconfirmed.

With approximately four years remaining until the scheduled release, Blizzard has not yet disclosed more gameplay details. The team is currently maintaining the 2030 release window, with further information on platforms and game content to be announced later.
