Nikki’s Info, an overseas fan resource site for Infinity Nikki, has been shut down. The site administrator believed that some of the game's costume designs carried "demonic" connotations and offended their religious beliefs, leading them to quit the game and remove all related materials from the site.
About a week after the website stopped updating, the administrator explained their whereabouts and the reasons for shutting down the site in a blog post. They claimed to have encountered things related to the occult and experienced a dangerous incident involving police, emergency personnel, and others. The administrator also confirmed that their current situation is stable.
The administrator later linked the decision to shut down the site to their personal faith, stating that the numerous crosses used as decorations in Infinity Nikki showed a lack of respect for their religion, with some even combined with Gothic and "demonic" themes. However, the administrator also clearly stated that playing the game could not be considered the direct cause of their experiences; the main reason remained their own prior actions.
Based on this stance, the administrator stated that they could no longer profit from such content nor wished to continue promoting works they found offensive, leading to the closure of Nikki’s Info. The website's source code, data, and domain name will not be sold.
This post subsequently spread widely among the Infinity Nikki player community, with many players beginning to discuss which costumes led to this decision. The controversy also extended to the religious elements in the design of the Nikki series: Infinity Nikki previously featured outfits resembling papal vestments, and the official team once explained the design concept behind the "Hidden in Prayer" set, stating that its "Crown of Stars" headpiece drew inspiration from the imagery of the Virgin Mary.
Currently, some commenters are attempting to offer assistance to the administrator of Nikki’s Info, but the administrator has clearly stated that they will not sell the website's source code, data, or domain name, and all original game materials have already been removed from the site.
