"Reka" is a single-player witch exploration adventure game now available on PC (Steam), blending house building, decoration, gathering, and crafting gameplay. Players take on the role of Reka, a witch's apprentice, who builds her own chicken-legged hut and explores the autumn forest with this walking home.
The game is currently in Early Access. According to the previously announced schedule for the demo and full release, a free demo supporting Simplified Chinese will be available on September 29, 2026, offering a playable preview of the story's beginning. The version 1.0 full release will launch on October 26 and will also support Simplified Chinese.
The walking chicken-legged hut is a key feature of the game. Players can summon this magical dwelling with giant bird legs, build the house themselves, and adjust its look through furniture placement and interior decoration. From the house structure to object arrangements, players can decorate the space according to their preferences. The hut serves not only as a travel companion but also as a private retreat for resting and practicing magic.
Beyond the hut, players will explore procedurally generated natural landscapes including forests, swamps, and villages, searching for materials, discovering spirits, and uncovering hidden secrets. Items collected along the journey can be used for crafting, building, and decorating. Players can also discover and tame wild animals, turning them into adventure companions or bringing them home.
The story revolves around Reka and the legendary witch Baba Yaga. As Baba Yaga's apprentice, Reka will study witchcraft, harnessing the powers of nature and earth spirits, gradually uncovering the secrets behind her mentor during her explorations. The game blends witch legends with autumnal woodlands, creating an adventure environment that is both cozy and mysterious.
When interacting with local villagers, players can accept quests and decide how to respond to their needs. The game also features character customization, allowing players to shape Reka's appearance to their liking.
"Reka" is developed by the German indie studio Emberstorm Entertainment and published by Fireshine Games and Songzhu Games.
