Amazon has launched its Prime Member Early Access sale, with dozens of Nintendo games seeing price drops. Titles like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Metroid Dread are discounted by approximately 30%. First-party Nintendo titles rarely go on sale, making this retailer promotion a relatively rare opportunity for discounts.
Former Nintendo president Satoru Iwata once argued that frequent price drops would condition consumers to wait for sales rather than purchase at launch. Due to this product strategy, players typically need to rely on second-hand markets or retailer promotions to buy first-party Nintendo games at prices significantly lower than retail.
During this event, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has dropped from $69.99 to $48.97. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom are priced at $41.99 and $41.97, respectively. Additionally, the season pass for Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda is now $10.47.
Several Mario-related titles are also included. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is now $41.99, with bundles containing related content reduced to $59.49. Mario Party Superstars, Super Mario Party, and Super Mario Party Jamboree are all priced around $42, while Super Mario Galaxy 2 has dropped from $39.99 to $27.99.
Other discounted titles include Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Luigi's Mansion 3, Metroid Dread, and Splatoon 3. The standard editions of these games have mostly dropped from $59.99 to either $41.97 or $41.99.
The list also includes Dragon Quest Builders 2, Fire Emblem Engage, Kirby Fighters 2, Metroid Prime Remastered, Miitopia, Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, Pikmin 1, Pikmin 4, WarioWare: Get It Together!, and Yoshi's Crafted World. Expansion passes and bundle packs for some games are also part of the promotion.
In addition to games, the sale includes controllers, keyboards, and headsets. Prime members enjoy free shipping on eligible items, and the promotional page offers a 30-day Prime membership trial.
