"King of Folly" Enters Early Access on November 16: Lead Your Army in Asynchronous Battles for the Throne

The asynchronous auto-battler "King of Folly" has released a new trailer, confirming its Early Access launch on November 16, 2026, with a Steam demo now available. Players need to assemble their legions, defeat armies left by other players, and strive to challenge the immortal Fool King to seize the throne.

This trailer was revealed at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct event. The game features an asynchronous battle mechanism where opponents are armies left by other players, eliminating the need for simultaneous matchmaking. How you assemble your forces before battle is a crucial part of tactical planning.

Available units include medieval troops and fantasy creatures, such as archers, catapults, knights, as well as fire mages and hell bats. Players can also deploy a colossal entity known as the "Hammer," wielding a massive hammer as its weapon.

Once you've determined your deployed units, you can imbue them with divine power. The game offers four types of divine abilities and over 120 upgrades, such as teleporting directly to enemies attempting to attack you, increasing melee units' attack speed by 50%, or transforming enemies into undead upon contact. Some abilities are already available in the demo.

Although battles are automatic, terrain still influences tactical arrangements. Players can utilize narrow passages like bridges, or leverage the cover provided by tall grass to deploy their troops.

After defeating enough armies, players have the chance to seize the throne. The player who ascends to the throne can also enact "Rule Breaker" decrees, affecting those who later challenge them.
