Sucker Punch Productions recently announced the release of Ghost of Yōtei Version 2.0, followed just hours later on the same day by the 2.001 update.
Version 2.0 of the game already includes several features originally scheduled for the October 1st Complete Edition launch. These include the "Beauty of Yotei" mode, which allows players to admire the Ezo environment like a screensaver and assists with photo mode composition, as well as new Watanabe-style tracks available throughout the entire game.
Convenience adjustments also include the Transmog feature, allowing players to retain the appearance of one armor set while using the stats of another. The update also adds new high-contrast accessibility options, photo mode stickers, New Game+ cosmetic content, and new trophies related to "Echoes of Sekigahara" and "Most Wanted."
The Complete Edition includes "Echoes of Sekigahara," a narrative expansion connecting the present timeline with Atsu's past on Honshu. It features her old acquaintance Nagato, new areas, new enemies, heavy weapons, armor, and dye options. "Most Wanted" is a single-player combat survival mode featuring multi-round bounty structures with roguelike elements and various playable characters.
Unlike the clearly defined Version 2.0, the specific purpose of the 2.001 update had not been announced at the time of reporting. The original text speculates that it is more likely intended for bug fixes or subtle adjustments, but this is merely an assumption based on the consecutive patch releases and should not be taken as official update notes. Players will need to wait for Sucker Punch to release the changelog to confirm exactly what was fixed or modified in 2.001.
