Ragnarok Online 3 has unveiled a new loot-and-extract mode called "Capra: Battle of Survivors." Developed from player suggestions, this mode supports five-player team challenges. Even if a team wins the battle, they must extract with their treasure within a time limit to claim rewards.
Published by Gravity Game Vision and co-developed by JoyMaker, this title is a cross-platform MMORPG. It continues the world-building, class progression, MVP challenges, and player interactions of the Ragnarok Online series, while expanding upon graphics, combat, guild gameplay, and other systems.
The development team gathers feedback through a "Co-Creation Council" composed of player-elected members. The concept for "Capra: Battle of Survivors" originated from the council's discussions on diverse gameplay modes and mini-games. The team integrated classes, skills, MVPs, and other distinctive features into the core mechanics of looting, combat, and extraction.
This mode revolves around exploration, combat, looting, and survival. Five players can choose their classes according to team strategy. Each class starts with two exclusive skills, and players can acquire additional skills and abilities through looting and crafting after entering the battlefield, allowing them to adjust their builds based on the situation.
Players can also enter the "Pirate's Secret Vault" through portals. The Pirate King will periodically leave behind treasure chests and traps; once the final team is determined, an evacuation portal opens, and teams that fail to extract their loot within the time limit will not receive challenge rewards.
The gameplay also incorporates hide-and-seek elements, allowing players to use special skills to transform into environmental objects like beer barrels and cacti to hide themselves. Team collaboration also impacts the outcome, as members can discuss skill combinations and tactical roles, adjusting their strategies as the battle evolves.
"Capra: Battle of Survivors" has currently debuted in the Ignition Test. The developers stated that the mode has received positive initial feedback from players, and further optimizations and adjustments will be made based on actual gameplay experience.
