Riot Games has announced a collaboration between VALORANT and Balenciaga. The two parties will open a limited-time concept internet cafe in Shanghai during the 2026 VALORANT Champions Tour Global Championship. Agent Viper is the centerpiece of this collaboration and serves as Balenciaga's first digital brand ambassador.
The VALORANT × Balenciaga concept internet cafe will be open from September 24 to October 18, aligning with the schedule of the 2026 VALORANT Champions Tour Global Championship. Unlike typical collaborations involving game skins or physical apparel, this partnership centers around a limited-time offline space.
Balenciaga will also launch NEO FOCUS through this collaboration, the brand's first blue-light-blocking glasses designed for gaming scenarios. Current information indicates that no clothing lines or other merchandise will be released simultaneously; NEO FOCUS will be the sole physical product from this partnership.
There are precedents for luxury brands entering the esports arena. In 2019, League of Legends collaborated with Louis Vuitton during the World Championship, featuring a clothing line, a custom travel trunk for the Summoner's Cup, and a Qiyana champion skin inspired by actual Louis Vuitton apparel.
Gucci previously partnered with FACEIT in 2022 to establish an esports talent academy and produced a mini-documentary series titled "GG Legends." Balenciaga has also ventured into the gaming space before, collaborating with Fortnite in 2021 to release physical merchandise, a virtual brand store, and in-game outfits.
This VALORANT collaboration focuses on offline experiences and gaming eyewear. The pop-up concept internet cafe in Shanghai will remain open until October 18, with Viper participating as Balenciaga's first digital brand ambassador.
