Danganronpa 2x2 has revealed a new character, Kotaro Tosa, voiced by Yuki Kaji. He will appear in the newly added "Madness Mode" as one of the high school students involved in the Class Trials.
Yuki Kaji also released a voice message confirming that this is his first time participating in the Danganronpa series. He stated that the recording process was enjoyable, with the culprit and tricks being gradually revealed as the script progressed. As for what kind of "Ultimate" talent Kotaro Tosa possesses, it remains undisclosed and will only be revealed within the game.
Danganronpa 2x2 is the latest entry in the Danganronpa series of fast-paced reasoning action games. Players must identify contradictions in others' statements during Class Trials to uncover the true mastermind behind the murders.
Based on the series' second installment, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, this title includes a brand-new storyline called "Madness Mode." While it retains the original setting and characters, a certain incident triggers a completely different progression, altering the victims, culprits, and case tricks.
The "Madness Mode" features a story volume roughly equivalent to the original script, increasing the total content by approximately 20% compared to the original. This title will also include the original story with visuals and direction revamped for current-generation consoles. Originally planned for release in 2026, the game has been delayed and is now scheduled to launch on January 14, 2027.
