South Korean League of Legends professional player Oh Hyeon-taek (ID: Noah) has announced his preparation to return to the professional scene. He stated that his military service can be postponed until 2028, so he plans to go to Europe again next year to strive for a return to the LEC.
This June, GIANTX removed Noah from the starting lineup during summer roster adjustments, promoting academy ADC Víctor "Flakked" Lirola Tortosa. Since then, there was speculation that Noah and his former bot lane partner Yoon Se-jun (ID: Jun) might need to return to South Korea next year for military service, making their LEC careers seem close to an end.
In a personal update, Noah mentioned hearing that he could postpone his military service until 2028, extending it by another two years. He therefore decided to attempt a comeback, stating he would give his all before ending his career. After being away from competition for several months, he began missing the competitive environment, his friends in Europe, and the LEC stage.
During his break, Noah lost 18 kilograms starting from July and continues to manage his weight. After two months away from League of Legends, he resumed solo queue a month ago, currently reaching 1700 LP with a 70% win rate.
South Korean law may restrict overseas travel for men who have not completed their mandatory military service. South Korean citizens who are eligible for service but have not yet enlisted must obtain permission from the Military Manpower Administration to leave the country after turning 25. Noah will turn 25 this October, which was the reason he previously worried his career might be forcibly interrupted.
Noah has not yet announced his next team, only confirming that he will strive to return to European competition next year. Jun, who previously partnered with him in the bot lane, is also reported to have successfully postponed his military service and is preparing to sign with Team Heretics.
