Alinea Statistics: Non-Gaming IP Adaptations to Surpass $900 Million in Revenue by 2026

According to Alinea Analytics, games developed based on non-gaming IPs generated over $900 million in combined revenue in 2026. 007 First Light topped this list with approximately $309.8 million in revenue.

The PlayStation 5 version of 007 First Light generated approximately $200.6 million in revenue, accounting for 64.6% of the total; the Steam version contributed $70 million (22.8%), and the Xbox version brought in about $39.2 million (12.6%). Total sales have surpassed 4.5 million copies, with roughly 2.8 million coming from PlayStation 5.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight ranked second, with approximately 2.3 million copies sold and revenue exceeding $165 million, of which about $100 million came from the PlayStation platform. Its PlayStation Plus Premium trial version attracted over 100,000 players, with a conversion rate to full game purchases of 3.1%.

Player overlap data indicates that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight users also frequently engage with other popular titles. Approximately 64% have played Minecraft, while around 78% have played both Fortnite and Marvel's Spider-Man. About 76% have played Grand Theft Auto V. The corresponding figures for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales are close to 70% and 68%, respectively.

Marvel's Wolverine, released just one week ago, has already generated nearly $150 million in revenue on PlayStation 5. For comparison, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach earned approximately $129 million on PlayStation 5 during a similar timeframe.

Halloween: The Game is another major title on the list, selling approximately 1.5 million copies within two weeks and generating nearly $65 million in revenue. The game features asymmetric 1v4 horror gameplay and includes a standalone six-level story campaign, allowing players to experience events from the 1978 film Halloween from Michael Myers' perspective.

Ranked fifth, Marvel Rivals generated nearly $50 million in revenue with approximately 750,000 copies sold. PlayStation accounted for about 82% of sales, while Steam made up around 18%. The game's peak daily active players across all platforms reached approximately 300,000, later dropping to below 40,000; weekly sales over the past week fell under 15,000 copies.
