The major free content update for BLAZBLUE: CHAOS EFFECT X, coming in Fall 2026, is now available. It adds two new elite enemies, "Nine" and "Lost Colossus," and unlocks the new stage "Ruins." Updates for Switch 2 and Switch will be released slightly later.
"Nine" is an elite enemy skilled in magic. She can cast spells of different attributes individually, combine multiple elements for attacks, and summon powerful familiars to assist in battle.
Faced with successive magical attacks, players must observe Nine's ever-changing attack patterns, time their dodges, and look for opportunities to counterattack during lulls in the assault.
This update also adds the "Ruins" stage, where the giant mechanical enemy "Lost Colossus" lies hidden deep within. It can swing its massive arms for heavy strikes, and its missile pods can unleash a dense barrage in a short time.
Destroying the machine's two arms does not mean the battle is over. Its head still houses a core that can continue attacking with high-power lasers.
BLAZBLUE: CHAOS EFFECT X is a 2D action Roguelite game, now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and Switch. This major free update has been released, though specific release dates for the two Switch platforms have not yet been announced.
