The open-source PS5 emulator KytyPS5 has recently accelerated its development pace, reportedly now capable of running "GTA V", Demon's Souls Remake, and Astro's Playroom, among other commercial 3D games. Notably, the console version of GTA V can achieve up to 60 FPS.
Project activity is also on the rise. KytyPS5 currently has nearly 500 forks on GitHub, with significant daily changes to the codebase. Independent developers and users from around the world continue to submit optimizations, new modules, and critical bug fixes.
As the emulator makes progress, some PlayStation players have begun discussing the situation surrounding the console release of Grand Theft Auto VI. They are concerned that PS5 emulation technology may mature further by then, allowing PC users to run the console version earlier, thereby affecting the potential time gap between the console and PC releases of the title.
However, this discussion remains based on speculation about future development progress. Grand Theft Auto VI has not yet been released, so it is impossible to judge the emulator's compatibility, performance, or actual hardware requirements at that time.
KytyPS5 developers have also urged caution, emphasizing that the project is still in its early stages of development. Regarding the unreleased Grand Theft Auto VI, the team finds it difficult to predict whether it will be runnable in the future or what its specific performance will be.
