Shift Up CEO and Stellar Blade director Kim Hyung-tae revealed that the team did not use a single body model for Eve to fit all outfits. Instead, they selected models with suitable body types for scanning based on different outfits, involving approximately seven to eight individuals.
Kim Hyung-tae introduced this production method during an interview centered on the Nintendo Switch 2 version and the 2026 Tokyo Game Show. The team aimed to present a more realistic fit when different outfits are worn by Eve, so they did not adopt the approach of simply swapping outfits on a single base model.
Key production focuses included the pressure of fabric on the skin, indentations left by straps and ties, and the corresponding swaying of clothing against the body during character movement. The team specially handled these details to convey the state of clothes actually being worn on the body.
Casting criteria also varied depending on the outfit. When producing swimwear, the team selected models better suited to showcasing the effect of fabric clinging tightly to the skin, including details where the material slightly indents the body. For outfits emphasizing style and fashion sense, slimmer models were chosen to preserve the intended silhouette and maintain a credible wearing effect.
Models involved in scanning for Eve's body include Shin Jae-eun, Yoon Seol-hwa, and Myboo, among others. However, the scan results provided by multiple models do not directly alter the character's appearance; related adjustments remain constrained within Eve's original base proportions to maintain character recognizability.
Kim Hyung-tae stated that the team's goal was not just to make the outfits look good, but also to ensure players could feel that the clothes were truly worn by Eve. Scan data from approximately seven to eight models was ultimately used to achieve this effect, while still adhering to Eve's established body proportions.
