Kagura Games and MangaGamer have announced that AliceSoft's territory-conquest simulation RPG, Sengoku Rance, will launch on Steam in October 2026. The Steam store currently lists the release date as October 1, while Kagura Games' official X account states October 2, resulting in a one-day discrepancy between the two sources.
This discrepancy may be related to time zones; what is certain is that the game will launch in October. Sengoku Rance is also planned to support Japanese interface and subtitles, marking its first debut on the Steam platform.
Sengoku Rance was originally released by AliceSoft in 2006 as the seventh installment in the Rance series. In the story, Rance and his partner Sil travel to "JAPAN," an eastern island nation modeled after Japan's Warring States period. Initially planning to enjoy a hot spring vacation, they unexpectedly become embroiled in a power struggle within the Oda clan of Owari, subsequently embarking on a journey to unify the nation.
The game revolves around territorial expansion. Players must handle domestic affairs, manage resources, expand their military forces, and launch offensives against adjacent enemy territories. Battles use a turn-based mechanism where different generals have their own troop types, skills, and action orders, with specific deployments influencing the outcome of the battle.
Beyond strategic management, the game includes RPG elements such as recruiting and training generals, character-specific storylines, and dungeon exploration. As your territory expands, more generals with unique abilities and independent stories can join your faction, allowing you to appoint commanders to lead armies against enemy forces and generals.
The Steam store page does not currently label this title as "Adults Only." Based on this, the version provided directly through the store is unlikely to include adult content or event CGs featuring mild nudity. Following the publisher's previous localization practices, such content is expected to be restored via a patch provided separately on the official website, though no official announcement regarding the patch has been made yet.
In addition to Sengoku Rance, other titles in the series such as Rance 01+02, Rance 03, and Rance IX have also been announced for upcoming releases on Steam. Currently, the specific release dates for Sengoku Rance are listed as October 1 and October 2 respectively, pending further unification on the relevant pages.
