Two Timelines Hidden in the Same Location: Core Gameplay of "Mihira: The Eternal Arc" Revealed

Studio Yeoun has announced the action-adventure game Mihira: The Eternal Arc, blending Souls-like and Metroidvania gameplay. Its time manipulation, fluid melee combat, and 3D platforming evoke memories of PS2-era Prince of Persia titles. Following Ubisoft's cancellation of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake in 2026, this new title offers fans of similar gameplay something fresh to look forward to.

Players will take on the role of Mihira, an Indian princess, traveling between the past and present while using her time-manipulation abilities to uncover hidden paths. This power also affects certain combat encounters, giving Mihira an advantage in specific scenarios. The game's character designs draw inspiration from ancient Indian mythology and folklore.

Each location can be experienced across two timelines, with each era featuring its own secrets, paths, and encounters. Currently revealed content shows that combat emphasizes parrying and high-risk counterattacks, with Mihira wielding dual daggers against enemies. It remains unconfirmed whether dual daggers are her only weapon or if the weapon system will expand further.

The game will also feature 3D platforming and Metroidvania-style exploration, though details about the parkour system remain scarce. Mihira's time abilities, melee combat, and three-dimensional movement form the core gameplay showcased so far, giving the overall style a resemblance to classic Prince of Persia titles.

Another key mechanic allows Mihira to blend into crowds to evade enemies. The development team states that this ability is crucial for tracking and hunting down "Time Keepers," mythical foes that appear difficult to defeat. Scenes from the trailer also recall the crowd-blending stealth mechanics emphasized in earlier Assassin's Creed games.
