The head of Halo Studios has confirmed that Halo Fest, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Halo series, will still be held from December 11 to 13, 2026, in Seattle, USA, with no changes to the dates or location.
Tahir "Tashi" Hasangjeka, Director of Competitive Engagement at Halo Studios, reaffirmed this arrangement on social media on September 24. The Halo series celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, having launched with Halo: Combat Evolved.
This confirmation comes in the wake of Xbox's latest round of layoffs. Microsoft cut hundreds of developers in its most recent layoff wave, with reports indicating that Halo Studios was left with only 20 developers afterward. It has also been announced that Activision will take over responsibility for the Halo series moving forward.
Regarding further details about Halo Fest, Hasangjeka asked players to remain patient. He stated that the team's current priority is to care for and support colleagues affected by the recent changes.
