It Takes Two on Steam is currently on a limited-time 70% discount, dropping from €39.99 to €11.99, with the sale running until September 28. This co-op title won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2021.
It Takes Two was developed by Hazelight Studios under the direction of Josef Fares. The story follows Cody and May, a couple on the verge of divorce: their consciousnesses are transferred into small dolls, and they must navigate their home, which has become a giant world, to find a way to return to their normal selves.
The game supports only two-player co-op and has no single-player mode. Two players can progress through the story via split-screen or online co-op; each chapter grants the two characters different and complementary abilities, interspersed with shooting, platforming, and other gameplay elements, as well as 25 optional competitive mini-games scattered throughout the levels.
The Friend's Pass allows one player to purchase the full version and invite another player to complete the entire game for free. The invited player needs to download the Friend's Pass version on Steam or the EA app. At the current promotional price of €11.99, the cost per person comes out to around €6 when split between two players.
