Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth Returns to Midgar with Initial Content Volume Comparable to Remake

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the final chapter of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, will see Cloud and his companions return to Midgar. Players will not only witness the changes in the city but also explore its depths through the "Midgar Rift."

The developers also confirmed that the piano minigame will return in this installment with expanded features. New mechanics will allow players to play more instruments, and additional narrative content will further explore Tifa's backstory.

Director Naoki Hamaguchi described this title as larger and more expansive than Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, estimating that the amount of content players can experience during their first playthrough will be roughly equivalent to that of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

No new footage was revealed in this presentation, but Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that related showcase videos will be released soon. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 next year, fully covering the world of the original Final Fantasy VII.
