Microsoft has extended the consultation period regarding Arkane by an additional month, pushing the deadline from the original November 13 to December 13. This gives the studio more time to find a new arrangement, but no buyer has been confirmed yet, and it remains uncertain whether Marvel's Blade will continue development.
Microsoft stated that the company is still exploring various options, including seeking partners who can support Arkane in completing subsequent development work. Updates on progress will continue to be communicated to the works council.
This extension means there is still time for potential deals to be negotiated, but it should not be seen as confirmation that the studio has found a buyer, nor as an official guarantee that Marvel's Blade will definitely continue development. Journalist Jason Schreier stated that he would be surprised if Arkane ultimately closed, while emphasizing that negotiations could still fall through.
Recent reports also suggest that development on Marvel's Blade is quite advanced, leaving open the possibility of a 2027 release. However, Arkane has never announced a release window for the title, so the 2027 date remains speculative.
