Razer launched the high-end wireless headset Barracuda V2 Pro on October 15. After two weeks of use, reviewers believe that the product's main advantage is its ability to seamlessly switch between scenarios such as gaming, commuting, music listening, and taking calls, rather than focusing solely on audio performance.
The Barracuda V2 Pro features a closed-back, over-ear design, weighs 285 grams, and is equipped with 40mm TriForce Bio-Cellulose drivers, supporting THX Spatial Audio+. The headset can connect via USB-C wired, HyperSpeed 2.4GHz, and Bluetooth 6.0, with Bluetooth and 2.4GHz capable of operating simultaneously.
The headset comes with a detachable HyperClear full-range microphone and hidden dual beamforming microphones; the former is for game voice chat, while the latter is convenient for taking calls on the go. However, reviewers do not recommend using the hidden microphones for streaming or podcast recording. The left earcup can also store the wireless receiver, reducing the risk of losing accessories when traveling.
Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation and Ambient Mode further expand usage scenarios. Tests show that Active Noise Cancellation effectively blocks out external noise in Counter-Strike 2, while also helping to determine character positions in Disney Dreamlight Valley. The headset features a low-key, non-RGB design and a foldable structure, making it more convenient for commuting.
The Barracuda V2 Pro boasts a claimed battery life of 70 hours, covering weekend music listening and weekday gaming sessions, thereby reducing the need for frequent charging. It is priced at $199.99 or £199.99. Reviewers suggest that users who need dual wireless connectivity, active noise cancellation, long battery life, and everyday wearability should consider this headset, while those who don't need these upgrades might opt for the more affordable Barracuda X.
