Street Fighter 5 Online Features Suspended and PS4/Steam Versions Delisted

On October 27, Capcom announced that it would sequentially suspend sales of the PS4 and Steam versions of Street Fighter V on the PlayStation Store and Steam, and implement temporary maintenance for the game's online features. These measures are intended to enhance the security of the PHP used by the game, with no restoration time currently announced.

During the maintenance period, all content requiring online functionality will be unavailable, while offline content that does not rely on an internet connection can still be played. Players who already own the game can access the offline portions, but those who have not yet purchased it may gradually find themselves unable to buy the title from the aforementioned digital stores.

On October 21, two major vulnerabilities known as "PHP2Shell" were disclosed, prompting various online services in Japan and abroad to implement security measures. However, Capcom has only stated that this maintenance is related to PHP security enhancements and has not confirmed any direct link between these actions and the aforementioned vulnerabilities.

The affected title is the earlier release, Street Fighter V, not Street Fighter 6. The maintenance end time, the full scope of impact on online features, and when sales will resume on the PlayStation Store and Steam are yet to be announced by Capcom.
