The development team subsequently responded to the departure of this horror character, stating that they remain welcoming toward horror-themed characters removed due to licensing issues joining or rejoining the game.
The developers are currently only open to the possibility of licensed characters returning, which does not mean that Chucky is confirmed to return to Dead by Daylight. Existing information also provides no specific plans for his return.
