Publisher syn Sophia announced that Life Is a Dungeon: Lean into It., developed by Anonymous Works, was released on Steam on the 27th. This dungeon-based Roguelite RPG centers around dungeon adventures, where players take control of a cast of eccentric characters to face various challenges.
The four characters in the game—Hunter, Warrior, Blacksmith, and Mage—each possess unique "temperaments," which directly determine the conditions required to advance to the next floor. The Hunter must open all chests on the current floor to proceed, the Warrior needs to defeat all enemies, the Blacksmith is required to collect all ores and weapons, and the Mage must gather all natural resources. This design forces players to flexibly switch between characters based on their respective goals, rather than relying on a single character throughout. Combat and exploration are controlled via mouse, with seamless integration of automatic movement and manual control. Each delve into the dungeon grants random skills, which can be combined with fixed skills from equipment to create diverse build directions.
The game had already garnered some attention through its free demo before its official release. The demo allowed players to experience 5 hours per save slot, with progress carrying over to the full version, and it accumulated over 8,000 Steam wishlist additions. The full version supports Simplified Chinese and offers a 20% discount during its first week of release. For Roguelite players who prefer easy controls but still want unique build experiences each run, this title strikes a lightweight balance between "automatic progression" and "strategic choices."
