The League of Legends 2026 World Championship Swiss Stage saw a crucial elimination match. Team Liquid defeated Anyone’s Legend 2-0, securing their first win of the tournament and keeping their playoff hopes alive, while AL's journey at this year's Worlds came to an end.
Both teams entered the match with two consecutive losses, meaning the loser of this best-of-three series would be immediately eliminated. In Game 1, Team Liquid picked a more familiar composition, efficiently suppressing their opponents to take the first win.
Game 2 had its twists and turns. Team Liquid once held a roughly 5,000 gold lead, but suffered a 0-for-3 trade in a teamfight near the Dragon pit, allowing Hope on Jinx to gain significant gold and narrow the gap. The match lasted until around the 45-minute mark, with both teams one Dragon away from securing the Dragon Soul.
In the final Dragon fight, Team Liquid secured the Infernal Drake Soul, with Yeon completing a triple kill to seal the victory. AL had previously lost to Karmine Corp and Top Esports (who fielded a substitute lineup), ultimately failing to win a single game or series. Team Liquid will next face LØS in another best-of-three matchup as they continue their push for a playoff spot.
