Recently, Square Enix announced the Romancing SaGa 3: Intertwined Fates companion, workshop, equipment, and growth systems. The game will launch on multiple platforms in February 2027 and support Simplified and Traditional Chinese subtitles.
The world map displays information about characters who can join your party in each region, helping players plan their team composition. The workshop storyline begins with the theft of the Holy King's Spear and the subsequent decline caused by the dispersal of craftsmen. Players must assist Nora in gathering the scattered artisans. As the workshop gradually revives, more types of equipment will become available for development and modification, allowing multiple items to be processed simultaneously.
Equipment materials can be obtained from sparkling spots, treasure chests, and enemy drops in towns, the wild, and dungeons. Holy Stones can also be used to modify the Holy King's relics. While some characters' exclusive equipment from the original version can be freely swapped in this release, assigning them to specific characters may still yield stronger effects.
After participating in a certain number of battles, characters can "Ultimatize" abilities they have already learned. Once completed, other characters can only equip these abilities if the original user leaves the party or deactivates them. Skills and spells also have an Ultimatization progress bar; upon completion, a unique icon is displayed, helping new companions learn them faster.
Romancing SaGa 3: Intertwined Fates will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2. The console versions will be released on February 16, 2027, followed by the Steam version on February 17.
